LE PLAN RECORDINGS IS SET TO RELEASE WAX TAILOR'S PHONOVISIONS SYMPHONIC ORCHESTRA ON NOVEMBER 4TH.
Originally released in 2005, "Que Sera" was an instant classic. So as Wax Tailor is celebrating the 10th anniversary of his career with the release of Phonovisions Symphonic Orchestra, on November 4th, we bring you a new tale on a not so forgotten melody. Recorded live at the Sebastopol Theatre in Lille, "Que Sera" was fully reorchestrated and is performed by the Phonovisions Symphonic Orchestra, an ensemble of 35 musicians and 17 person choir. The result is a new take on the song where classical instruments and samples integrate seamlessly.
Frenchman Wax Tailor has been at the forefront of the downtempo electronic movement for the past decade. A respected producer with 4 albums under his belt and close to 100,000 sales in the US, he is also a globetrotter who has toured over 50 countries and given over 500 live performances.
In 2011, he partnered with the musicians of the Orchestra of the Opera of Rouen and performed 4 concerts in Europe to sellout crowds. Building upon this successful experience, he is putting together a new live experience: the Phonovisions Orchestra with 35 musician and a 20 person choir, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his career with a panoramic revisitation of his classic tracks.
All compositions have been rewritten to emphasize the interaction between the amplified instruments and their orchestral counterparts. A strong emphasis has been placed on visual elements, with a projection screen set as a stage backdrop, where an specifically commissioned visual creation can be shown to highlight this new composition. Current commitments include an 10 city European tour as well as the newly reopened National Theatre in Bogota.
