Alan Moore & Mitch Jenkins
From the mind of Alan Moore (Watchmen, V For Vendetta, From Hell) and director Mitch Jenkins… SHOW PIECES.
Show Pieces includes three short films and will be available as a Boxset and digitally May 6th.
A screening in London is May 8th with a Q&A with Alan Moore and Mitch Jenkins to follow.
This occult thriller is Moore’s first work written specifically for the screen and made with his ongoing creative involvement.
Show Pieces is comprised of three short films, shot in London and Northampton and starring Siobhan Hewlett (Sherlock, Torchwood), Darrell D’Silva (RSC, Dirty Pretty Things) and Andrew Buckley (Wallander).
The films exist within a wider project - The Show - a richly detailed, multi-episode, non-linear narrative world.
Act Of Faith: Faith Harrington, a young female reporter on a local newspaper who has an exotic private life, prepares for a stimulating evening at home that doesn’t go according to plan.
Jimmy’s End: Louche and hard-drinking womaniser James Mitchum finds himself wandering into one strange bar too many.
His Heavy Heart: Picks up the narrative of the hapless James Mitchum from a point following his dreadful realisation at the conclusion of Jimmy’s End. In a grotesque parody of Egyptian funerary rites, James is shepherded less than gently into his unenviable afterlife.
Show Pieces will be available on iTunes, Amazon & Hulu in May 2016. The films are also available in a box set containing five short films on DVD, a book of storyboard illustrations by Kristian Hammerstad and the original screenplay, and a soundtrack CD featuring original songs written by Alan.
The box set will be available at the Barbican during the event and can be ordered online here: Show Pieces is presented courtesy of Lex.
